After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Cloud, Meridian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Parkview Christian Patriots, posting a 47-12 win. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.

Meridian found their leader in sophomore Jayton Jones, who rushed for 123 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 144 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 passes. Another player making a difference was Maddox Haake, who gained 202 total yards and a touchdown.

Meridian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jones and Haake.

Meridian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Parkview Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will host Harvard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkview Christian, they will be playing at home against Lewiston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
