Softball Recap: Dudley Comes Up Short

The matchup between Dudley and Atkins on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Dudley Panthers came up short against the Atkins Camels, falling 19-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dudley dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Atkins, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dudley will square off against Ben L. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atkins will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
