Baseball Game Preview: Pine Crest Panthers vs. Monarch Knights

The Pine Crest Panthers will head out to face off against the Monarch Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Crest will be strutting in after a victory while Monarch will be coming in after a defeat.

Pine Crest was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Westminster Academy 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pine Crest got a great performance from Bryant Barkan as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cole Kaplan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Monarch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-2 to Westminster Academy.

Monarch saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bohdee Williams, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

The victory got Pine Crest back to even at 8-8. As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16-1.

Everything went Pine Crest's way against Monarch in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Pine Crest made off with a 14-2 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
