Softball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes a Loss

Damonte Ranch and Douglas squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Damonte Ranch had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 20-8. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 18-12 loss back in April.

Reese Matter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Dow, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Damonte Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Douglas, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-18.

Damonte Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Douglas, they will square off against Reed at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
