Baseball Game Preview: Mount Airy Granite Bears vs. North Stokes Vikings

The Mount Airy Granite Bears will square off against the North Stokes Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Airy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Mount Airy came up short against North Stokes and fell 6-1.

For North Stokes' part, Elijah Whicker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

North Stokes pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Airy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
