Softball Recap: Bellevue Comes Up Short

Bellevue came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-3 to the Clyde Fliers. The Redmen have struggled against the Fliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Payton Hicks was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Meyer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Clyde, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Bellevue will venture away from home to square off against Columbian at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Clyde, they will face off against Seneca East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
