Volleyball Game Preview: Central Grizzlies vs. Clovis Cougars

Central is 0-8 against Clovis since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Central came up short against Clovis East and fell 3-1. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Clovis waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Golden Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Clovis never let Clovis West on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-19.

Clovis pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Central might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Clovis in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Cougars' Aiden Insyarath, who had three digs and three aces.
