Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington was the 48-45 winner over St. Francis Borgia when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Washington Bluejays were beaten by the St. Francis Borgia Knights 65-35 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Knights are ranked 138th).

Washington has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for St. Francis Borgia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Washington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ursuline Academy at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Ursuline Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for St. Francis Borgia, they will head out to challenge Oakville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
