Basketball Recap: Charter Oak Comes Up Short

Charter Oak played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 74-36 loss at the hands of the Artesia Pioneers. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Artesia was led to victory by Jordan Heredia and Jovell Tate. Heredia went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points, while Tate went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Johnson, who posted seven points.

Charter Oak's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Artesia, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Charter Oak will head out to challenge Rowland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Artesia, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Cerritos at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Cerritos' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
