Basketball Recap: Reseda Wins Going Away Against Sylmar

Reseda hadn't done well against Sylmar recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Reseda Regents strolled past the Sylmar Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 63-49. For the Regents, this counts as revenge for the 77-58 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Tim Tanner and Alex Reyes certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Tanner went 10 of 20 on his way to 22 points and six boards, while Reyes posted eight points. Tanner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Dario Navarrete also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Reseda's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Sylmar, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Reseda has already played their next contest, a 60-58 loss against San Fernando on the 17th. As for Sylmar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-62 win against Panorama on the 17th.
