Basketball Game Preview: IDEA Sports Park Stingrays vs. Raymondville Bearkats

The IDEA Sports Park Stingrays will head out to face off against the Raymondville Bearkats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

IDEA Sports Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They rang in the new year with an 81-70 win over Santa Rosa on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stingrays.

Meanwhile, on FridayIDEA Riverview kept up with Raymondville until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Raymondville put the hurt on IDEA Riverview with a sharp 56-32 victory. The Bearkats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

IDEA Sports Park better keep an eye on Colt Cavazos. He was instrumental in Raymondville's win, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Cavazos a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Slevin Gutierrez, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Raymondville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

IDEA Sports Park has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Raymondville, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-7.
