Basketball Game Preview: Kiowa Cowboys vs. Savanna Bulldogs

The Kiowa Cowboys are taking a road trip to face off against the Savanna Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Kiowa will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Kiowa was able to grind out a solid win over Coleman, taking the game 46-35. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Wildcats are ranked 401st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Savanna ended up a good deal behind Pittsburg on Tuesday and lost 68-51.

Kiowa is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Savanna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Kiowa skirted past Savanna 49-46 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kiowa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
