Basketball Recap: Bevier Triumphs

After losing to Southwest the last time they met, Bevier decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bevier Wildcats walked away with a 58-45 victory over the Southwest Wildcats on Friday.

Despite the loss, Southwest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gavin Farris dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Farris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Moss, who posted 11 points.

Bevier now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southwest, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bevier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-28 defeat against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris on the 9th. As for Southwest, they will face off against Hardin-Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
