Crossroads hadn't done well against Viewpoint recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Roadrunners won by a run and slipped past the Patriots 2-1. This was payback for the Roadrunners, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Quinn Barach tossed a big game, striking out six batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alfred Bloomingdale and Jesse Abrams did most of the damage at the plate: Bloomingdale went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base, while Abrams went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Bloomingdale has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Crossroads and bumps their season record up to 13-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Viewpoint, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.

Crossroads will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
