Cochranton is 6-0 against Rocky Grove since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cochranton Cardinals will face off against the Rocky Grove Orioles at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cochranton took on Maplewood on Monday. Cochranton fell 52-39 to Maplewood. The Cardinals have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Marley Rodax put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 16 points along with six boards and three steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Williams, who scored four points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Cochranton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Rocky Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 52-19 loss at the hands of Maplewood. While losing is never fun, the Orioles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Tigers are ranked 288th).

Rocky Grove's record now sits at 2-9. As for Cochranton, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Everything came up roses for Cochranton against Rocky Grove in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 48-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cochranton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
