Baseball Recap: Chapel Hill Wins Going Away Against Hillside

Chapel Hill came out on top against Hillside on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Tigers blew past the Hornets 8-0. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won nine in a row.

Chapel Hill got a big performance out of Austin Campos, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Campos is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 6-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of David Campos, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Chapel Hill's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hillside, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Chapel Hill beat the Hornets by a score of 8-0 later that day.
