Softball Recap: Davison Takes a Loss

Davison extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Grand Blanc Bobcats, falling 13-1. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Grand Blanc, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Grand Blanc's part, Savannah Schultz made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Schultz has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Kate Mitchell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Skylar Green, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

While Davison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
