Football Recap: Valley Mills' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Valley Mills was feeling good fresh off their 52-27 takedown of Holland last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the De Leon Bearcats on Friday, falling 41-21. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 52-27 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

De Leon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adan Salinas led the charge by rushing for 137 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Another signal caller making a difference was Heston Jobe, who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, Valley Mills fell to 2-1. As for De Leon, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Valley Mills will head out on the road to face off against Blooming Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for De Leon, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hawley at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 982 yards in their previous games.
