Mathis has gone 8-2 against Taft recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will host the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Mathis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Mathis gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Aransas Pass by a score of 11-8. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Audrey Salinas was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Marivel Martinez, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Taft suffered their closest defeat since March 9th on Friday. They fell just short of Odem by a score of 7-5. Greyhounds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Owls since Friday.

This is the second loss in a row for Taft and nudges their season record down to 7-15. As for Mathis, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Everything went Mathis' way against Taft in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Mathis made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
