Recap: Nelsonville-York Buckeyes vs. Marietta Tigers
The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes lost against the Marietta Tigers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Nelsonville-York ended up on the wrong side of a tough 74-50 walloping at the hands of Marietta. Nelsonville-York has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nelsonville-York's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alayna Okulich, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Airah Lavy, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Nelsonville-York's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marietta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nelsonville-York will take on Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Marietta, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome GlenOak at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
