Softball Game Preview: Western Indians vs. Symmes Valley Vikings

Western is 0-6 against Symmes Valley since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Indians will take on the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Western has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Western played against Eastern on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Symmes Valley let South Point stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Wednesday but luckily Symmes Valley prevailed anyway. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pointers, sneaking past 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Symmes Valley's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Western, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Western might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Symmes Valley when the teams last played back in April. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
