Bloomsburg had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it eight. They lost 12-3 to the Hughesville Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 last Friday.

Kara Bodganowicz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Reese Klinger was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Hughesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. Considering they have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Hughesville's side, Ella Breneisen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. Looking ahead, Bloomsburg will take on Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hughesville, they will face off against North Penn-Liberty at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mountie's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
