Softball Game Preview: Kauai Red Raiders vs. Waimea Menehunes

Kauai is 1-9 against Waimea since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Kauai is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season last Saturday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Kapa'a. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Waimea faced Kapa'a in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Wednesday. The Menehunes came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-1. The Menehunes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kauai's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Waimea, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
