Basketball Recap: Saks Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Saks took a 23-point defeat the last time they faced off against Randolph County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Saks Wildcats had just enough and edged the Randolph County Tigers out 47-45. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Saks' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sania Angel, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Angel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Alonna Crews was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points.

Saks' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Randolph County, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saks will host Pleasant Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Randolph County, they will welcome Handley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
