Brentwood Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Hunka, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Hunka is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Savio gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Hill Country Christian School of Austin with a sharp 11-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on nine straight dating back to last season.
Jace Pereira made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pereira was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Everything went Brentwood Christian's way against Savio in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, as Brentwood Christian made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brentwood Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
