Volleyball Recap: Mount Desert Island's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Mount Desert Island unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Hampden Broncos. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While Mount Desert Island ultimately came up short, they really made Hampden work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 13-25, 25-20, 29-27.

Ella Watson paced Mount Desert Island's offense, picking up 11 kills. Watson got some help from Lily Byer and her 22 assists. Byer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Mount Desert Island's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Hampden, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Mount Desert Island will face off against Brewer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hampden, they will take on Cony at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
