Baseball Recap: Northern Nash Wins Going Away Against Eastern Christian Homeschool

Northern Nash never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers 7-0. That looming 7-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

Ben Edgerton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that he got this season.

Edgerton wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Taylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Tristan Murray was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Northern Nash's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Northern Nash will square off against Franklinton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they will be playing at home against Greenville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
