Basketball Recap: Atlanta Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Atlanta Classical Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it four. They were dealt a 91-42 loss at the hands of the Fulton Science Academy Mustangs. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

As for Fulton Science Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. That looming 91-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Leading Fulton Science Academy to victory were Julian Edney and Luke Turney. Edney went 7-for-14 on his way to 26 points along with five boards and four steals, while Turney shot 59% from the field to rack up 24 points and five steals. Edney's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Grady Ward, who shot 71% from the field en route to 12 points and five steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Atlanta Classical Academy is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Whitefield Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fulton Science Academy, they will square off against The Weber School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
