Softball Recap: Silsbee Takes a Loss

Silsbee came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-1 to the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since February 18th.

Silsbee's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4-1 record this season.

Silsbee and Little Cypress-Mauriceville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers will face off against West Orange-Stark at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (248 vs. 693). The timing is sure in Silsbee's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Mustangs have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Little Cypress-Mauriceville (ranked 63rd) will meet Jasper (ranked 502nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
