Volleyball Game Preview: Hersey Huskies vs. Maine South Hawks

The Hersey Huskies will challenge the Maine South Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Hersey sitting on three straight wins and Maine South on six.

Hersey is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Maine West.

Hersey never let Maine West on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Maine South narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Niles West 2-1.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (76-75) Maine South actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 27-25, 28-26.

Hersey's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-16. As for Maine South, their win bumped their record up to 27-11.

Hersey came up short against Maine South in their previous meeting on May 3rd, falling 2-0. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
