Volleyball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. Justin Garza Guardians

The Madera Coyotes will take on the Justin Garza Guardians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Madera has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Justin Garza will arrive with four straight wins.

Madera came up short against Edison on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Madera couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Edison a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 30-28, 25-21.

Justin Garza extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Phillip Bell. The Guardians skirted past Sanger West 3-2 with plenty of help from Bell, who had 20 digs and six assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Justin Garza got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-31, 25-17, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13.

Justin Garza's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Madera, they now have a losing record of 18-19.

Madera beat Justin Garza 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Guardians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
