Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brainerd). They came out on top against the Detroit Lakes Lakers by a score of 13-8 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Drew Herkenhoff, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Schenck, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Brainerd and bumps their season record up to 4-7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Detroit Lakes, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Brainerd and Detroit Lakes could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Warriors will face off against St. Michael-Albertville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (196 vs. 23). Meanwhile, Detroit Lakes (ranked 254th) will meet Fergus Falls (ranked 101st) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
