Baseball Game Preview: South Hills Huskies vs. Crescenta Valley Falcons

The South Hills Huskies will head out to square off against the Crescenta Valley Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Hills is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

South Hills' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Alta Loma. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly four runs.

South Hills got a great performance from Elias Reyes as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Reyes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, South Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Robert Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Brown a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Crescenta Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Arcadia on Friday and fell 6-4. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Hills pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Crescenta Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

South Hills couldn't quite finish off Crescenta Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2022 and fell 2-0. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
