Basketball Recap: Kalamazoo Central Comes Up Short

Kalamazoo Central lost against Lakeshore back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants took a hard 52-36 fall against the Lakeshore Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Maroon Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Lancers are ranked 93rd).

Kalamazoo Central has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. Lakeshore is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Kalamazoo Central will challenge Muskegon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeshore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
