Juanita came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Bothell Cougars 5-3.

Max Starikov looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Juanita's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 5-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ronan Scoffield, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Cohen, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Juanita lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Juanita's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Bothell, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Juanita will take on Redmond at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bothell, they will head out on the road to square off against Bellevue at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
