After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seminole, DeLand was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pine Ridge Panthers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hailey Whidden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teagan Squires, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alex Lacombe, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

DeLand hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

With the win, DeLand broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Pine Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13-1.

Coming up, DeLand will welcome Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Ridge, they will head out on the road to square off against Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
