Basketball Recap: Grand Blanc Sets Scoring Season-High Against Whitehall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Blanc). They came out on top against the Whitehall Vikings by a score of 78-67 on Friday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Vikings are ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Whitehall still got an impressive performance from Camden Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 boards. The contest was Thompson's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kal Koehler, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Grand Blanc and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Whitehall, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Grand Blanc wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-51 loss against Mott on the 21st. As for Whitehall, they are on the road again on Monday to play Forest Hills Central at 2:00 p.m. Whitehall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.
