Softball Recap: North Harford Comes Up Short

North Harford extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-9 in the process. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harford Tech Cobras. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cobras apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

As for Harford Tech, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Harford Tech's part, Alexandria Kurth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. Kurth has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lyric Strong was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Shiloh Wall, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

While North Harford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
