Football Game Preview: West Rusk Raiders vs. New Diana Eagles + How To Watch

The West Rusk Raiders will face off against the New Diana Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with West Rusk sitting on five straight victories and New Diana on three.

West Rusk's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Winona 48-0. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1082nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Judson Dotson was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and a pair of TDs. Hunter McCandless was another key player, gaining 50 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Rusk was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, New Diana humbled Winona with a 50-14 victory.

New Diana now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Rusk, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

West Rusk was dealt a bruising 72-7 loss at the hands of New Diana in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Raiders were down 48-0.
