Softball Recap: Poland Seminary Gets the Win

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Poland Seminary and Hubbard, and Poland Seminary kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-6 win over the Eagles on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Eagles back in April, they had to take a 9-7 loss.

Madison Medvec spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kylee Hudran was incredible, going 2-for-4 with seven RBI, one triple, and one run. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Boccieri, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Poland Seminary's record is now 12-9. As for Hubbard, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

Coming up, Poland Seminary will be playing in front of their home fans against LaBrae at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hubbard, they will face off against Pymatuning Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
