Basketball Recap: David Watson Key Part of a Team Effort in Sharks Win

There's no place like home for Divine Savior Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past the Westminster Christian Warriors 63-61. For the Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 74-65 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Divine Savior Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Watson out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Watson a new career-high in blocks (five). Sajoni Vargas was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points and seven boards.

Despite the loss, Westminster Christian still got an impressive performance from Julian Crespo, who went 9 for 17 en route to 27 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Dwight Whipple, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Divine Savior Academy's record is now 12-3. As for Westminster Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Divine Savior Academy has already played their next match, a 72-62 loss against True North Classical Academy on the 15th. As for Westminster Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-68 win against Miami Country Day on the 15th.
