Game recap: Mountain Pointe High School Football Team tops Red Mountain

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, Ariz.) upset Red Mountain (Mesa, Ariz.) 48-7 on the strength of Antonio Hinojosa, who tossed four touchdown passes.

After taking the lead on an Hinojosa touchdown pass to Emmanuel Butler in the first quarter, the Pride led 21-0 at the half.

Mountain Pointe grew its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. MP scored three times in the third, including once on an Hinojosa touchdown pass to Timmy Hernandez.

With the win the Phoenix school extended its winning streak to 12 games. Mountain Pointe defeated Boulder Creek 55-7 last week.

Hinojosa played well for the Pride in the victory. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.



Red Mountain's lone touchdown came on a 35-yard pass in the fourth quarter.

Mountain Pointe came into the game allowing 8.4 points per game. Red Mountain's seven points were well below their season average of 17.6 per game.

The loss comes after Red Mountain defeated Highland 34-7 last week. The loss ended Red Mountain's three-game winning streak.
