Volleyball Game Preview: Penn Kingsmen vs. New Prairie Cougars

Penn has won five straight games at home, while New Prairie has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Kingsmen will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Penn earned a 3-1 victory over Elkhart.

Penn was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-7, 22-25, 25-21.

Penn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Lane led the charge by getting 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lane has posted over her last seven matches. Carson Petty was another key player, getting 21 assists and four digs.

Meanwhile, New Prairie made easy work of South Central on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-21.

New Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Penn, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.

Penn was able to grind out a solid victory over New Prairie when the teams last played back in August, winning 2-0. Do the Kingsmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
