Softball Recap: Chimacum Comes Up Short

Chimacum had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it four. They came up short against the Seattle Christian Warriors, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cowboys seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for Seattle Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Seattle Christian's part, Jessica Knight made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Knight a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Izzy Blase was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Sophie Gielski, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Seattle Christian beat Chimacum by a score of 7-0 later that day.
