Baseball Recap: Grafton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Elkins on Thursday, Grafton came back down to earth. The Bearcats fell just short of the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Bearcats have struggled against the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Grafton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greyson Ramezan, who went 3-for-4 with one double. The Bearcats are 2-1 when Ramezan posts three or more hits, but 10-11 otherwise.

Grafton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Fairmont Senior, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Coming up, Grafton will head out on the road to challenge Williamstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairmont Senior, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Frankfort at 10:00 a.m. The Polar Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
