Softball Recap: Fairhope Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairhope can now relate to. They fell just short of the Auburn Tigers by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Emma Stewart was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Fairhope's loss dropped their record down to 33-15. As for Auburn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-18 record this season.

Fairhope does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburn, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Thompson at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.5, the Warriors 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
