Baseball Recap: Dunnellon Takes a Loss

Dunnellon blew Belleview out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Belleview got their revenge. The Tigers fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 25, 2025.

Dunnellon got a good showing from Beecham Small, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Small has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dunnellon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Payne, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Belleview, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Dunnellon will welcome Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belleview, they will head out to square off against West Port at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
