Baseball Recap: Lockhart Comes Up Short

Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 15-7 to the Hays Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 7-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Ethan Mendez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Ybarra, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Lockhart's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hays, their win bumped their record up to 13-6-1.

While Lockhart had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
