Baseball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Classical Academy Caimans

The University City Centurions will be taking part in a tournament against the Classical Academy Caimans at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. University City's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Classical Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

University City is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Bonita Vista just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-4 to the Barons.

University City got a good showing from Gavin Sieler, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Josh Kaplan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Antenore, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Classical Academy came up short against Helix on Tuesday and fell 6-1. The Caimans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Classical Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Hoff, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

University City's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
