Baseball Game Preview: Caddo Bruins vs. Tupelo Tigers

Caddo and Tupelo are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Bruins will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Caddo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Tupelo's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Caddo's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rock Creek as they made off with a 7-0 win. Considering the Bruins have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tupelo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Varnum on Tuesday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Tupelo pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Caddo, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-6.

Caddo beat Tupelo 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
